Fix an assistant connection

Separate approval, connection verification, and the availability of the action you need.

Sign-in stops before approval

If your assistant cannot open the agencyos approval page, ask it to check whether the same approval can be resumed. Start one replacement only when the existing attempt cannot be used. Keep any existing working connection in place.

When approval opens, confirm the company, app name, access, and duration before continuing. Finish in the same assistant session and verify a small read-only request. If sign-in still fails, use Connection help → Copy support summary and include the assistant name, approximate time, and safe error wording.

Connect from your own device

If your assistant runs on another computer, ask it to use the connection-code option. Open the link on your own device, sign in if needed, enter the code from your assistant, and review access. Keep the assistant waiting until you finish approval. You never need to send the code back in chat.

If the code expires or the assistant stops waiting, ask it to start one new attempt when you are ready. If it says its installed version cannot use connection codes, that client needs a compatible setup before you retry. Do not move to a remote desktop or copy a failed sign-in address into chat to work around it.

Approved, but not verified

Return to the same assistant session and finish connecting. Ask it to verify authenticated, read-only access to the intended company. Then return to the agencyos wizard, select Check connection, and identify the matching connection.

Approval alone does not prove the assistant can reach company records. A successful connection check also does not prove every tool or provider action works.

Expired or disconnected

Open AI connections and review the selected connection’s state and duration. Expired or disconnected access requires a new approval for that assistant. Keep other assistants’ connections unchanged; do not use another assistant’s connection to restore this one.

Read the reason shown on the disconnected connection. It distinguishes a disconnect from workspace settings, a disconnect requested by the app, and repeated use of a sign-in approval or renewal credential. Older connections may say the reason was not recorded.

If the app reused a renewal credential, have its maintainer check competing sessions and outdated saved credentials before reconnecting. A new approval alone may not fix repeated disconnects. Share the displayed support reference when available.

When you explicitly start setup again, the assistant may start one replacement approval if its own existing access cannot be used or resumed. You still approve the actual access in agencyos. Outside that setup request, reconnection needs your direction. An expired access token alone does not mean the underlying connection has expired; normal renewal may still work.

The company or action is unavailable

  • Wrong company: confirm the company in agencyos and in the assistant’s authenticated read.
  • Viewing works but editing fails: check whether editing was requested and approved for that area and whether your own role allows it.
  • An action is missing: ask the assistant to check its current available actions. It should return a proposal rather than claim an unsupported action completed.
  • A record is unavailable: confirm the exact record and company. Do not repeatedly create a replacement to work around the error.
  • A saved change is uncertain: inspect the current record before retrying. For a conflict, review the latest state before approving another change.

Advertising data is unavailable

Check the connection’s allowed advertising accounts in Settings → AI connections. If you see Review advertising account access, ask an owner or admin to use Manage account access and review the intended selection. Being able to open the account in Ads manager does not mean your assistant can read it.

If the account list cannot load, retry loading it before adding access. If saving is uncertain or another person changed the connection, cancel and reopen the connection to inspect the saved selection before trying again.

Share a safe support summary

  1. Open Connection help in the setup wizard.
  2. Select Copy support summary.
  3. Add the assistant name, approximate time, and the step where the problem occurred.
  4. Describe whether the problem affects sign-in, the company check, a read, or a specific action. Leave out passwords, sign-in codes, private record content, and copied connection secrets.
